Open

On this most auspicious of days, Abbot Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche will conduct a Refuge Ceremony. This significant date marks the anniversary of Lord Buddha’s Enlightenment and Parinirvana, and holds further importance as the anniversary of Lama Rinpoche’s own Bhikkhu ordination. On such a day, it is said that the power of positive deeds is immensely increased.

The Ceremony & Precepts

Anyone who wishes to formally take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha is welcome to participate.

  • Orientation: A member of the Sangha will provide an introductory talk at 9:30 am in the temple to explain the significance of the commitment.

  • The Ceremony: Following a short break after the talk, the formal Refuge Ceremony will begin.

  • Participation: While mainly intended for those taking refuge for the first time, those wishing to renew or confirm their existing commitment are most welcome.

  • Precepts: There will also be an opportunity to take new precepts or renew any you already have.
